User Story¶
As a player, I want certain items to drop when I or an enemy dies, so that I can recover lost items or collect rewards from defeated enemies.
Player Drops:¶
- Some items drop at the player's death location (e.g., consumables, collectables).
- Dropped items can be retrieved if the player returns to the location before dying again.
- If the player dies again before collecting their dropped items, they are lost permanently.
Enemy Drops:¶
- Defeated enemies may drop items like health/mana pickups, collectables, or spell scrolls.
- Drops can be randomized or predetermined, depending on the enemy type.
- Some enemies drop unique rewards upon first defeat, while others respawn with normal drops.
Test Cases¶
- Verify that intended items drop correctly upon player death.
- Ensure that dropped player items remain at the death location until collected or lost.
- Confirm that dying again before retrieval permanently removes the dropped items.
- Validate that enemy drops spawn correctly upon defeat.
- Ensure that unique enemy drops function correctly and do not respawn if intended as one-time rewards.
- Check that visual/audio effects indicate dropped items on death.
